CMJ Engineering Case Study: Fort Worth

Client Name: City of Fort Worth

Project Name: City of Fort Worth 18-Month Contract
Fort Worth, Texas

Type of Work: Geotechnical Investigation and Construction Materials Testing.

Scope: The City of Fort Worth produces an 18-month contract for support of geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services for various departments within the City. Mr. Jackson worked closely with the City of Fort Worth Coordinator in producing fast-tracked proposals for numerous projects. By providing a key communicator with the City of Fort Worth, and by maintaining a constant team of competent geotechnical personnel to perform all of the work for the City Contract, Mr. Jackson not only met all goals and guidelines, particularly the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation, the City renewed the contract in a new 18-month period, and extended the contract for an additional 6 months thereafter. The projects required performing geotechnical drilling, laboratory testing, and a variety of recommendations for various projects including buildings, drainage structures, pump stations, lighting, park work, and pavement.

Challenges: The main challenge was to maintain positve communications for all of the various projects and to be able to satisfy not only the time frames and technical quality desired, but to maintain this quality with utilization of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. All items were accomplished without fail. Results of these accomplishments are the renewals of these contracts on two occasions.
